I am trying to make French onion soup, and the directions say to sweat the onions for 20 min w/o stirring. Maybe I should just call it burnt onion soup.
I found the same results when I tried to make french onion soup about 1000 years ago, and I gave up to never try again...because of the awful smell it made.
